On May 5th 2005, the New Hamburg Fire Department hosted a fire prevention event for the Sheafe Road School kids and teachers.

The New Hamburg Fire Prevention Team headed by Ed Ludwig and Doug Terwilliger went to the Sheafe Road Elementary School to teach the students in grades Kindergarten to 5th the importance of fie prevention. Kindergarten to 4th grade learned about Stop, Drop, and Roll; Get Out, Stay Out; E.D.I.T.H. and about smoke detectors.
