The New Hamburg Fire Department was dispatched to the Village of Wappingers Falls to assist the Wappingers Falls Fire Department (WFFD) at a structure fire on South Ave. at the Baptist church on May 11 2008. New Hamburg 53-11 and 53-13(engines) arrived on the scene with 13 firefighters and assisted the WFFD and other mutual aid companies in extinguishing the fire. The reason for the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
